FAMILY FAIR RETURNS TO ROUSE HILL HOUSE & FARM -- Sunday 18 August, 9am – 4pm (fee, free parking)
Bring the family along to FAMILY FAIR at Rouse Hill House & Farm for a day of good old fashioned fun, inspired by regional fairs from yester year, with farm animals, games and a host of family-friendly activities.
Come and experience farm life by feeding the cows, taking a pony ride, watching the sheep-shearing show and meeting the animals at the mobile animal farm.
JUMPING SACKS, MAYPOLE DANCING. . .
Visitors can try their hand at a range of enjoyable activities from kite flying, jumping sacks, maypole dancing and vintage lawn sports including croquet and quoits.
Families can enjoy music from The Morrisons, country and folk band, a paper art workshop led by Sydney artist, illustrator and designer, Elin Matilda and story time at a pop-up library courtesy of Blacktown City Council.
Pack a picnic rug and feast on a range of food offerings from the Nighthawk Diner, Waroo Lamb, Nana Clara’s Maltese Kitchen, Diego Donuts, The Gelato Man and Pull ‘n Shots coffee.
Round the day off with viewing of Rouse Hill House which is filled with an assortment of belongings and treasures that chronicles the changing fortunes of six generations of the Rouse family and visit the schoolhouse with mistress Mrs Fox to experience what lessons were taught in 1880.
